Frequently asked questions
What people ask before deciding
Is travel health insurance mandatory for Erasmus?
Most exchange programmes and the visa process of the host or home country require a health insurance policy valid for the whole period. We recommend confirming the exact requirement with your university's international office.
What is the difference between student health insurance and residence health insurance?
Both can be used for a residence permit application; the difference is that the student product is designed for students enrolled in higher education and can be renewed throughout your studies.
Is Erasmus insurance valid only in Türkiye?
No. Erasmus travel health insurance is issued to be valid in the country where the exchange takes place as well; this is what sets it apart from residence insurance, which is valid only in Türkiye.
How is the policy start date set?
For residence and student insurance, the start date should match your application or stay. For Erasmus insurance, it is set by the start of your programme.
Is there an age limit?
Insurance is generally issued as standard for ages 0–65; insurers may apply different rules depending on the product, and you can clarify this in the quote form.
